Dr. Sackett earned an undergraduate degree from Temple University College of Health Professions (BSN) in Philadelphia, PA, a Master’s degree in Health Education (MEd) from Temple University, a Master’s degree in Nursing Administration (MSN) from Widener University in Chester, PA and a Doctorate in Education (EdD) from Temple University . She earned a Certificate in Health and Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania Leonard Davis Institute; a Certificate from UCLA in Online Teaching; a Certificate in Medical Informatics from the Marine Biology Laboratory/National Library of Medicine; and several Certificates from Healing Touch International. She is a Medical Informatics MBL/NLM Course Fellow.

Dr. Sackett has had a variety of national and international education and nursing experiences over the years. She practiced in a variety of setting ranging from medical-surgical, community and home health, nursing quality assurance, case management, nursing administration, research, and undergraduate and graduate education. She spent several years working for the United Nations/UNESCO in Nigeria. Early in her career, Dr. Sackett was licensed and taught Health Education and functioned as a School Nurse in grades K-12.

She currently teaches in the Master’s and Doctoral programs. Dr. Sackett is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International and Healing Touch International. She was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa Education Honor Society. She is a Peer Reviewed Journal Reviewer for The American Journal of Managed Care, CIN: Computers, Informatics & Nursing and Applied Nursing Research. Her primary research interests and publications have focused on case management, managed care, nursing leadership and management, Evidence Based Practice, healthcare/nursing informatics most specifically the diffusion of innovation and technology across the profession of Nursing and Healing Touch.
