Becky Edwards received a BSN from The University of Alabama School of Nursing in 1965, when it was on the Tuscaloosa campus, before the school was moved to Birmingham, and later earned an MSN degree from the University of Alabama School of Nursing at Birmingham with a focus in community health. Ms. Edwards came to the Capstone College of Nursing in 1979 and taught students in community health and at the senior level in the preceptorship course. Since 1990, Ms. Edwards has been in charge of the Lowery Learning Resources Center and is currently Director of Facilities, Technology and Distance Education at the college. As Director she oversees the classrooms, computer labs, media lab and clinical practice labs housed in Russell Hall. Ms. Edwards serves as a resource to other CCN faculty in activities associated with various presentation needs, METI activities and WebCT. She has received several media awards at the state and national levels. Professional memberships include the National League for Nursing and the Epsilon Omega Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
