Lillian Jeannette Findlay, PhD, PMHNP-BC
Dr. Findlay is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Graduate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Track. She has 23 years of experience as an advanced practice registered nurse in psychiatric-mental health nursing. Dr. Findlay has practiced in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings providing treatment to people across the lifespan who have serious mental illnesses and co-morbid substance use disorders. In addition, she has accumulated 18 years of mental health research experience while serving on psychiatric research teams in university settings. Her expertise includes qualitative research on decision-making and health behaviors among adults diagnosed with serious mental illnesses. Dr. Findlay has been a co-investigator on a recent Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration SBIRT grant which utilized Motivational Interviewing as an intervention. She has also authored and co-authored peer-reviewed articles in professional mental health journals and presented research findings at national conferences. Dr. Findlay incorporates multidisciplinary integrated care into her clinical practice and envisions a future of improved care transitions between treatment settings to maximize physical and mental health outcomes of people with behavioral health conditions.
