Leigh Dickson, Ed.D, RN, CNL
Leigh Dickson received her Bachelors Degree in the Science of Nursing from The University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing. She received her Masters Degree in the Science of Nursing with a Clinical Nurse Leader focus. She received her Clinical Nurse Leader certification. Leigh Dickson completed her doctoral degree at The University of Alabama in 2015 in Instructional Leadership for Nursing Education. Dr. Dickson’s research interests include Spirituality, Service Learning with special emphasis on international medical experiences, and Women’s Health with a special focus on crisis pregnancy.
Leigh Dickson began teaching part-time as a Clinical Instructor at The University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing in 2006. In 2008, she started a full-time position at the nursing school. Dr. Dickson’s main teaching responsibilities include Professional Nursing Practice: Childbearing Families, UA Nursing Abroad courses, and courses within the RN Mobility Track. However, she has experience teaching in Fundamentals of Nursing Practice, Conceptual Foundations of Nursing Practice, Nursing Informatics, Critical Thinking/Clinical Judgment, and NCLEX review courses. Her main area of clinical expertise is in the Maternal/Child area.
