CCN Advising Information-Upper and Lower Division Students
Due to concerns regarding COVID-19, the Capstone College of Nursing has developed a temporary academic advising model that will allow us to continue to serve our students through this time of transition.
In order to assist lower division students who have not been advised for the upcoming summer and fall course registration, the Office of Nursing Student Services will be available for phone meetings. Additional information will be emailed to lower division students on Monday, March 23rd with dates that advisors will be available for phone appointments as well as instructions on how to make your appointment. Advising for upper division students will be conducted through email during the week of March 23rd. Please continue to check your email for information on which courses you should be registering for.
No face-to-face advising appointments will be scheduled in an effort to adhere to the University’s efforts towards social distancing. To transition all previously scheduled face-to-face appointments to a phone appointment, please call 205-348-6639 on Monday, March 23rd.
The immediate focus of Nursing Student Services will be on preparing students for course registration. Other advising needs related to career, internships, involvement, etc., will be addressed after peak registration has passed (March 30 – April 17). The course registration calendar can be found here.
During this time, the Capstone College of Nursing remains committed to supporting our students. In doing so, we are working with other campus support services (Testing Services, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships, Student Account Services, Student Health Center, Counseling Center, etc.) to familiarize ourselves with their continuity plan so we can make effective referrals.
Students, parents, faculty and staff can stay updated on The University of Alabama’s responses to the COVID-19 outbreak by visiting The University’s Health Information page.
We will continue to update our CCN community as the situation changes and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
CCN BSN Clinical and Classroom Instruction
You will be hearing from your course leaders about course content that needs to be completed. You will not be returning to your clinical sites. However, all remaining clinical hours will be delivered in an alternate format.
