Biography

Dr. Janet Brown joins the Capstone College of Nursing (CCN) as an Assistant Professor and will begin teaching in the BSN program in the fall of 2021. She earned her PhD in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2021 and her MSN in Nursing Education in 2013 from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Her research focus is self-efficacy toward utilization of sexual and reproductive health care services among women with cystic fibrosis. Dr. Brown taught in the Alabama Community College System for 3.5 years prior to earning her PhD. Dr. Brown is a Certified Pediatric Nurse and worked as a clinician with children and adolescents with cystic fibrosis.
