Biography

Dr. Lauren Kyzar is a full-time clinical Assistant Professor at CCN. She graduated from UAB School of Nursing in 2014 with a BSN. She started her nursing career in the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and it was here she developed her love for critical care, neurology, and trauma. Lauren also has experience in urgent care and post-operative care after working at MedCenter and Tuscaloosa Surgical Center.

She graduated from Samford University with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice in 2020. While at Samford she also obtained a dual certification in both Family and Emergency Nurse Practitioner.  Upon graduation from Samford, she worked full time as a Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department at DCH Regional Medical Center. She has also worked full time as a Nurse Practitioner at Novus Neurology caring for general neurology patient’s and several mental health patients. Dr. Kyzar continues to work in the ER on a PRN basis and works at Novus Neurology on her clinical faculty practice days.

Dr. Kyzar is a board-certified Family and Emergency Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She resides in Tuscaloosa with her husband and their three children.
