Biography
Dr. Rebecca Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama, a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and a Post-Masters in the Family Nurse Practitioner concentration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from The University of Alabama. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and experienced in providing care across the lifespan in rural, private, and emergency settings.
Dr. Martin is a former District president of the Alabama State Nurses Association. She maintains her membership in the American Nurses Association, the Alabama State Nursing Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Alabama Alliance of Nurse Practitioners, the West Alabama Nurse Practitioner Association, and Sigma Theta Tau honor society of Nursing. She is a board member of the Northwest Alabama Cerebral Palsy center, the Alabama Cerebral Palsy State Board, and Five Horizons in Tuscaloosa.
She has precepted and mentored both nurse practitioner students and nursing students who worked as administrators, managers, and providers. She opened a rural pediatric clinic and satellite clinics in underserved rural areas.
Dr. Martin is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Family Nurse Practitioner Concentration Coordinator. She has taught in both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Dr. Martin maintains a volunteer clinical practice at Good Samaritan Clinic in Tuscaloosa.
