Biography
Dr. Krista Fowler is a dedicated nurse educator and a three-time alumna of the Capstone College of Nursing at The University of Alabama. She earned her BSN in December 2009 and began her professional career in the Medical Intensive Care Unit, an area of practice that continues to be a passion of hers. In August 2017, she earned her MSN from CCN with dual concentrations as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Following completion of her Master’s education, Krista returned to her alma mater as a full-time Clinical Instructor, driven by a strong commitment to patient care, clinical excellence, and nursing education. She currently serves as a Senior Instructor, teaching across Undergraduate, Graduate, and RN Mobility programs, where she plays a key role in preparing nurses at multiple stages of professional development. Krista also continues her clinical practice in a private cardiology office.
In December 2025, Krista completed her DNP degree from the Capstone. Her scholarly and professional interests center on advancing evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient outcomes, with a particular focus on translating research into meaningful clinical and educational impact. Krista feels deeply grateful to be part of the Capstone College of Nursing community and is passionate about mentoring and inspiring future nurses as they pursue excellence in practice and leadership.
