Biography
Dr. Collins earned her Practical Nursing Degree from Shelton State Community College in 2006, and her Associate Degree in Nursing from Shelton State Community College in 2017. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Samford University in 2021. She went on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice specializing in Advanced Clinical Practice from Samford University in 2025.
She began her nursing career as a staff nurse at DCH in med-surg and the stroke unit. She then transitioned into primary care and internal medicine. After achieving her ADN, she entered into pain management, where she developed a strong interest in caring for patients with chronic pain and complex healthcare needs. After earning her Master’s, she returned to pain management and practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner while completing her doctoral degree. Her DNP project was focused on the importance of identifying anxiety and depression in patients with chronic pain, as well as building a screening and treatment referral protocol to implement into her clinic.
Dr. Collins has a passion for people, nursing, and serving her community. She is committed to the future of nursing and to supporting and inspiring students at the Capstone College of Nursing. Outside of her professional role, Dr. Collins enjoys serving her community alongside her family through Soma Church.
