Biography

Ashleigh Morris is a full-time clinical nursing instructor at Capstone College of Nursing. She received her certificate as an LPN at Shelton State Community College in 2012 and her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2015. Ms. Morris is also a two-time alumnus here at the University of Alabama, receiving her BSN in 2016 and MSN with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2019. She began her nursing career as a Medical-Surgical RN at DCH Regional Medical Center in 2015 and has experience caring for post-partum women at DCH until 2020. She is currently credentialed through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Ms. Morris had the opportunity to be a part of Samford University’s Nurse Residency Program between 2020 and 2021, caring for patients in an urgent care setting. Before onboarding at UA, she was a nurse practitioner at a primary care community health care center, Whatley Health Services, caring for patients with chronic and acute medical conditions. She is also currently enrolled in UA’s Doctorate of Nursing program part-time to pursue her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree.
