Biography
Dr. Leah Keith is a Teaching Assistant Professor and family nurse practitioner with a clinical background in emergency and post-anesthesia care nursing and advanced practice experience in primary and urgent care. She began her professional career in education, teaching at the secondary and collegiate levels before transitioning into nursing. She continues to practice clinically as a family nurse practitioner, bringing current clinical experiences and perspectives into the classroom.
Dr. Keith’s academic experience includes serving as a graduate teaching assistant in the Simulation and Learning Innovation Center at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and as an assistant professor of nursing at the University of North Alabama. Her scholarly interests include evidence-based teaching, simulation, mentorship, and strategies that strengthen clinical reasoning and bridge classroom learning with clinical practice.
Dr. Keith is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and holds national certifications through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Outside of her professional roles, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
