Biography
Dr. Jones serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Capstone College of Nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama in 2020 and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2024. She is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC and holds a post-graduate certification in Nursing Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Jones began her clinical career as a critical care nurse across multiple intensive care units in the Birmingham area. During this time, she also served as a part-time Clinical Nursing Instructor for both Auburn University and Samford University, teaching in their critical care rotations. She currently maintains clinical practice as an inpatient cardiology nurse practitioner and is an active member of the Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama.
Her scholarly work centers on nurse well-being, with a particular focus on burnout mitigation. She is published in Nursing2025 for her project, “Implementing Mindfulness to Reduce Nurse Burnout,” and remains passionate about preparing both faculty and students to recognize and address burnout proactively. She also collaborates on a research team examining workplace violence in nursing, aiming to reduce its impact and equip nurses with strategies to remain at the bedside.
Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Jones enjoys traveling, working out, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs.
