Biography
Heather Tayloe, DNP, AGACNP-BC, RN is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing, where she teaches in the pre-licensure nursing program. She is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with specialized expertise in hematologic malignancies and blood and marrow transplantation.
Prior to her faculty role, Dr. Tayloe practiced as a registered nurse in cardiothoracic surgery and the medical intensive care unit, experiences that shaped her foundation in high-acuity and complex patient care. She later practiced as a nurse practitioner in blood and marrow transplantation, caring for patients with advanced hematologic malignancies and those undergoing CAR-T cell therapy.
Her scholarly interests focused on antibiotic stewardship in CAR-T therapy and infection management in immunocompromised populations, and she collaborated with national leaders in multiple myeloma and transplant medicine. Dr. Tayloe earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from UAB and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
She maintains her nurse practitioner role in blood and marrow transplantation at UAB as her faculty practice and is committed to preparing future nurses through clinically grounded, evidence-based education and the advancement of high-quality, patient-centered oncology and transplant care.
