Biography

Dr. Shjuan Crockett is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Capstone College of Nursing, where she is committed to preparing the next generation of nurses through evidence-based teaching and mentorship. Her professional nursing experience includes: primary care, geriatric care, dementia care, long-term care, acute care, and rural healthcare. Her work also extends to nursing leadership and quality improvement.

Her academic journey began with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from the University of West Alabama in 2007, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Alabama in 2011. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) concentration from Samford University in 2014 and later earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Samford University in 2021. In addition, she is a Certified Dementia Practitioner, reflecting her specialized expertise in dementia and long-term care.
