Conflict of Interest

Every researcher or anyone who is responsible for the design, conduct, or reporting of federally funded research, regardless of his/her title or role on the project must submit a disclosure (Statement of Financial Interest) annually. September is the annual disclosure period. Please update your disclosure any time from September 1-30 at the link below.

UA Policy on Conflict of Interest/ Financial Disclosure

Conflict of Interest (COI) training is required once every 4 years and should be completed by each investigator prior to engaging in any research or sponsored activity related to a funded grant or contract (refer to Section III. D. of the Policy on Conflict of Interest). Training is offered through the CITI Program. Please log into your mybama Account and click on the CITI training program link under the research tab.


New Federal Guidelines (Uniform Guidance)

The Office of Management and Budget issued new guidelines  “Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards; Final Rule” on December 26, 2013 (2 CFR Chapter I, Chapter II, Part 200, et al.).  Per the OMB webpage this guidance “will supersede requirements from OMB Circulars A-21, A-87, A-110, and A-122 (which have been placed in 2 C.F.R. Parts 220, 225, 215, and 230); Circulars A-89, A-102, and A-133; and the guidance in Circular A-50 on Single Audit Act follow-up.”
