Michele Montgomery, PhD, MPH, RN
Dr. Montgomery earned her Ph.D. in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While attending UAB, she received the Sigma Theta Tau Rising Star of Scholarship and Research Award and the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Graduate Student. She also completed the MCHB-funded Leadership Education in Adolescent Health Fellowship and the MCHB-funded Leadership Education in Child Health Nursing fellowship. Dr. Montgomery began teaching at the Capstone College of Nursing in August, 2009. She has taught in Professional Nursing Practice: Community Health, Critical Thinking and Problems Solving, and Critical Thinking and Clinical Judgment.
Dr. Montgomery is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau (Nursing Honor Society), Southern Nursing Research Society, and the American Public Health Association. Dr. Montgomery has published in the areas of Pediatrics, Childhood Cancer Survivorship, and Reproductive Health.
