Biography

Dr. Sartain received her BSN from The University of Alabama’s Capstone College of Nursing in 2003. In 2010, she completed her MSN and obtained certification by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL). In 2018, Dr. Sartain received her EdD in Instructional Leadership from The University of Alabama’s College of Education.

Prior to her career in nursing education, Dr. Sartain gained clinical experience in both critical and palliative care. Since joining CCN as a full-time faculty member in 2011, Dr. Sartain has taught in a variety of courses in the traditional BSN program, and she served as the Simulation Specialist for eight years. In addition to her primary teaching assignments in the traditional BSN program, Dr. Sartain also teaches in the RN-BSN, MSN and EdD programs.
