Dr. Haley Strickland has been teaching at the Capstone College of Nursing since 2007. She received her BSN from the University of Alabama Capstone College of Nursing in 2004 and her Master of Science in Nursing with a Clinical Nurse Leader emphasis in 2009. In 2013, Dr. Strickland earned her EdD in Instructional Leadership with a Nurse Education Specialization.
Dr. Strickland began her nursing career in cardiac-surgical critical care and also has extensive experience in post-anesthesia and outpatient surgical care. She is certified by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing as a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) and holds current CCRN certification by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. Her special interests include human patient simulation, nursing student outcomes, and innovative teaching strategies in nursing education.
Dr. Strickland teaches in the traditional BSN program and RN Mobility program. Previously she has taught Conceptual Foundations for Nursing, Role Transitions, Critical Thinking & Clinical Judgment, and Fundamentals of Professional Nursing Practice. Dr. Strickland presently teaches Leadership & Management in the BSN Traditional and RN Mobility programs. She also serves as the Capstone College of Nursing’s Preceptorship Coordinator.
