Biography

Kate McConathy is a proud graduate of The University of Alabama -Tuscaloosa Capstone College of Nursing (CCN). She graduated with her BSN in 2011 and went to work for The University of Alabama (UAB) hospital, first as a floor nurse and then as an Assistant Nurse Manager on the Orthopedic/Trauma Unit. She graduated from the UAB School of Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program in 2015. As an FNP, she worked for Medical West in Internal Medicine from 2015 to 2020. In 2020, she transitioned from Internal Medicine to part-time Sleep Medicine and full-time nursing faculty for CCN. In 2020, she was accepted into the joint Ph.D. program at The University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa/The University of Alabama-Huntsville and will graduate in 2024. She is a member of The Central Alabama Nurse Practitioner Association, The American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau – Epsilon Omega Chapter, The Sleep Research Society, and The Sleep Professionals of Alabama.
