Depending on the device you’re using, you’ll find instructions linked below to help you. Below are explanations of each link:

  1. Outlook PC Application Reconnection Instructions.pdf – These are instructions to walk you through reconnecting the Outlook program on your computer (CCN owned and personal computers) to the email server.
  2. iPhone iPad – How to Delete and Configure the iOS Outlook App – CLOUD.pdf – These are instructions on how to delete and reconfigure the Outlook app on your iPhone or iPad. ONLY USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU’VE PREVIOUSLY BEEN USING THE OUTLOOK APP ON YOUR IPHONE OR IPAD.

Use of the Outlook app on mobile devices when accessing UA email is now required for security reasons. If you’ve not been using the Outlook app on your mobile device, the two attachments below will provide instructions on how to install and configure the app and how to remove the old account in your native email app. If you’ve NOT been tapping on an icon like this one to access your email, then you’ve not been using the Outlook app and you’ll need to follow the directions below.

  1. iPhone iPad – Install and Configure Outlook App.pdf – These are instructions on how to install and configure the Outlook app on your iPhone or iPad and how to remove the old account from the native email client. ONLY USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU’VE NEVER USED THE OUTLOOK APP ON YOUR IPHONE OR IPAD.

  3. RETIRED USERS ONLY:
UA is now requiring multi-factor authentication to access and use email and retired users don’t have access to DUO, which is what active faculty and staff use. Retired users need to setup Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication. I’ve attached a document here that provides instructions for doing so. The document is titled Retired Users Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication Instructions.pdf
Retired Users Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication Instructions.pdf – The instructions will walk you through the configuration of the Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication system.

To Do
When first accessing your desktop Outlook application in the morning, you may simply receive a prompt to login to your account. Be sure to login with your myBamausername@ua.edu email address, not an alias email address.  See the attachment Outlook PC Application Reconnection Instructions.pdf

If you access email on a mobile device, the Outlook application on your mobile device may need configuration. See the attachments for your device, described above.

If you use a web browser to access your email, please note the new URL you will use following the migration: https://outlook.office.com/, not webmail.ua.edu.

IMPORTANT: If you can’t get to your email via the Outlook app, you can gain immediate access to your email by browsing to https://outlook.office365.com and logging in with your mybamausername@ua.edu and mybama password.
