Biography
Dr. Ashleigh Morris is a full-time clinical assistant professor at the Capstone College of Nursing with over 10 years of nursing experience. She began her nursing journey as an LPN in 2012 and earned her ADN degree in 2015. She is a three-time alumna of the University of Alabama, earning her BSN in 2016, MSN with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner in 2019, and her DNP in 2025. She has worked in various nursing fields, including skilled nursing/long-term care, Medical-Surgical, and postpartum/OB care.
As a nurse practitioner, Dr. Morris is credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She has experience practicing in both urgent care and primary care settings. In primary care, she provided care to patients with both acute and chronic conditions from disadvantaged and underserved populations in community settings. Dr. Morris currently practices at a hospice organization as needed.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and her ragdoll cat, Calee, and visiting Disney World with her family every other year. Dr. Morris is excited to share her passion for nursing education with each student who aspires to make a lasting impact in the field of nursing. ROLL TIDE!
