Biography

Mrs. Strickland is a full-time clinical instructor at the Capstone College of Nursing. She earned her BSN from Samford University in 2009, and her MSN from Samford University in 2016. She is pursuing a PhD in Nursing. She joined the CCN faculty in 2024.

Mrs. Strickland began her career in cardiovascular stepdown units, intensive care units, and outpatient services. For the past decade, she’s served as a nurse educator in various acute care and community health settings.

Mrs. Strickland is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society in Nursing (STTI), the Association of Community Health Nursing Educators (ACHNE), the Developmental Disabilities Nurses Association (DDNA), and the Alliance for Disability in Health Care Education (ADHCE). She collaborates on various research projects, presents at national and international conferences, and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications. Her scholarship and service efforts are devoted to improving the health and wellness of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
