Biography

Maggie Benfield is a full-time clinical instructor at the Capstone College of Nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of South Alabama in 2013. She worked in the University of South Alabama Level 1 Trauma Center in the Emergency Department and various other emergency departments in the Mobile and Baldwin County areas. She then pursued her Master of Science degree in Nursing in 2019, graduating with dual certifications in Adult Gerontology-Acute Care and Family Practice. After graduating, Maggie worked as a CRNP at USA Children and Women’s Hospital Emergency Department before moving back to Tuscaloosa in 2022.

Before joining the Capstone in 2023, Maggie had previously been working as a CRNP for a home health company, pediatric urgent cares, and adult urgent care facilities. She resides in Tuscaloosa with her husband and their two children. She is active in her church community at Christ Episcopal Church where she currently serves as a guild president.
