Dr. Joyce Loyd-Davis

Joyce Loyd-Davis DNP, FNP-BC, MSN, MSM, is a Family Nurse Practitioner and small business owner of JDJ Consulting. She currently serves as the Sr. Director of Health Services at Alabama State University.
Dr. Loyd-Davis has a diverse background in health care to include pediatrics, women’s health, community health, occupational health, urgent care, primary care, adjunct teaching and administration over her 27-year career in health care. She also has political background as she was elected to the Millbrook City Council in 2012. Dr. Loyd-Davis served one 4-year term as Councilwoman.
She is a graduate of Tuskegee University (BSN), Troy University (MSN, MSM) and The University of Alabama (DNP). Dr. Loyd-Davis is currently the President of Nurse Practitioner Alliance of Alabama (NPAA) and is historically the first Afro-American to serve in this position.
Dr. Loyd-Davis was recently appointed by the Governor to the State of Alabama Midwifery Board. She also serves on the APRN Advisory Council to Alabama Board of Nursing.
She has received numerous awards to include: Recognition of Excellence to ASU Health services by Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. Beta Nu Omega Chapter 2022; Woman of the Year Award presented by Beta Sigma Alumnae Chapter 2021; History Maker Award by Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. Beta Nu Omega Chapter 2020; Leading Ladies Award presented by Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama 2018; Volunteer of the Year presented by Hands on River Region 2016; Outstanding Woman in Business presented by InMontgomery 2015; Outstanding Nurse Practitioner for River Region presented by NPAA 2017.
Dr. Loyd-Davis is married to Charlie Davis and has three children, Dazja, Jade and Jayce. She lives her life driven by her motto, “Help Someone Along the Way.”
